**BRILLIANTLY CREATIVE ** MASTERFUL ** ONCE AGAIN TALENT SOARS AT THE LA JOLLA PLAYHOUSE'S GALA OF:

**PETER & WENDY**

Guests for the La Jolla Playhouse's Gala 2002 were invited to go "Above the Stars" to Neverland and explore the fantasy of Peter Pan and the fab creativeness of Chairperson Debby Jacobs.

Guests dressed in celestial attire entered Gala grounds to a strarry night of entertainment, dining and dancing.

A dinner buffet was designed by Jeanne Jones and Amy Butterfield along with Hyatt Regency La Jolla. Among the temptaions were Stilton cheese & pear vichyssoise, cold poached salmon with chilled dill dressing, apricot glazed chicken, New York Strip Steak with Port demi-sauce, horseradish mashed potatoes and penne pasta with broccoli, lemon & garlic. To put it lightly dinner was great!

Then off to a magical evening of Peter & Wendy. The Japanese puppetry, incredible staging, Irish song and briliant actors transported guests to magical childhood fantasy.

I can only say brilliant about this production. You simply have to go see it!

The cast will wow you. Karen Kandel spellbound everyone. So did the rest of the cast among whom are Sam Hack, Sarah Provost, Lute Breuer, singer Lisa Moscatiello, Jane Catherine Shaw, Basil Twist, Walter Stark, Jenny Subjack, Jessica Chandlee Smith and more.

Among the Cast of San Diego supporters making this and other productions happen are the Dr. Seuss Foundation, the James S. Copley Foundation, La Jolla Playhouse Center Stage Club, Sempra Energy, Joel and Rosanne Holliday Family Foundaiton, Charmaine and Maurice Kaplan and Joan and Irwin Jacobs.

After the show the gala went wild. Dancing to the Wayne Foster Orchestra kept the dance floor full and desserts of Peter & Wendy cake, assorted petite cookies and and ice cream sundae bar.

Guests of this Neverland evening under the stars never wanted it to end. But end it did as Tinkerbells and Peter Pans went home to tell the tale again and again.
