HOLLYWOOD.............Lights,
Camera, San Diego!
The
theme of the special exhibit is Filming San
Diego: Hollywood's Backlot Moviemaking in
San Diego 1898-2002.... and it's fabulous!
All at the San Diego Historical Society in
San Diego's Balboa Park.
The
retrospective exhibit takes you from silent
movies shot in San Diego, through a history
of movie posters, costumes, props, cameras
and more to the present.
At
the opening of the exhibit, San Diego Historical
members and special guests were greeted with
a red carpet entrance to the party.
There to enjoy the moment were Honorary Chair,
Oscar Award Winner and just really nice guy,
Cliff Robertson, Executive Director of the
San Diego Historical Society Bob Witty, Event
Chair Pat Jacoby, Co-Chairman Barbara Daly
and a cast of a hundred guests including:
Fabulous
actress Nanette Fabray, San Diego Film Commissioner
Cathy Anderson, the guy who should be in pictures
Tom Blair, Editor of San Diego Magazine, Nell
Waltz, Jennifer Whitelaw, Claudia and Bill
Allen and Shelley Stefanyzn.
Entertainment
was provided by the Teeny-Tiny Pit Orchestra
for Silent Films. Sponsors included Sempra
Energy and Four Square Productions (producers
of the Killer Tomato Movies).
