On August 13th, 2007, Dianne York-Goldman President and CEO of La Jolla Spa MD graciously invited eight guests to a private luncheon and fashion show at Neiman Marcus. By limo of course. And the fun began at the door with champagne and shopping amidst the Roberto Cavalli and Gucci sections. Soon followed by a perfect light lunch, and a Neiman Marcus exclusive Autumn fashion show.
Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Nancy Gonzales, Stephen Dweck, and Roberto Cavalli weren't the only luxe items spot lit. V.I.T. or Very Important Trends were the focus. Very slimming black tights, cuff couture bracelets, clothing in sophisticated shades of gray, mixed with subtle detailing, and sequins. Couture designs included wide legged trousers, draped skirts, sleek sheaths, all accessorized with the all important crocodile clutch by Nancy Gonzales, and the equally 'must have' purse by Chanel. Oh and don't forget the trend that's rocking couture glam, the short suede bootie.
But this luncheon invitation by Dianne York-Goldman had backbone for great reasons. Dianne bought this exclusive luncheon as an auction prize at the recent Jewel Ball. And in fact, there was yet another layer to this day. It served as a big thank you to some very special people. Dianne invited guests who are part of her Honorary Committee for the upcoming 'Pretty in Pink' themed Susan G. Komen fundraiser that she is Chairing on September 15h. The event will feature the couture fashions of International Designer Isabell Kristensen.
Among Dianne's honored guests for this luncheon day were Doreen Schonbrun, Sally Thornton, Sook Hansen, Phyliss Parrish, and Lynelle Lynch. Lynelle bought a pretty Roberto Cavalli dress. And others promised to come back soon. The day came with a Neiman Marcus gift card.
But the fun didn't stop at Neiman's. On arrival back to La Jolla Spa MD, Dianne gave her guests the choice of a facial or massage. Now that's living. Shopping and Spa'ing, a girl's best friend!
