What's Up Girard

The La Jolla Design District celebrated 'What's Up Girard 2007' with furnishings, food, and fanfare. Designers from Nestlife, Roche Bobois, Everett Stunz, Divan Studio, Seaside Home, Material Things, Ross Thiele & Son, Wm Ohs, Waterworks, Panto, Design Studio West were among those showcasing what they do best. Design. And just in time for the holidays too!

Sheryll Jackman of Seaside Home had this to say. "What's Up Girard 2007 was an absolute success, showcasing the diverse specialties and experts available on Girard Avenue in both an educational and social atmosphere. The design district hosted a large group of designers and existing clients, as well as a new group of people who were simply interested in seeking out the latest in interior trends. The daily seminars were free to the public, offering information on everything from green friendly design to antiques--and the evening soirees allowed design professionals and the interior savvy to enjoy the best of what the district has to offer."

H2 Public Relations' Heidi Hageman agreed. "What's Up Girard 2007 was the most successful event for the La Jolla Design District to date. Hundreds showed up for the daytime seminars---learning about everything from floral arrangements, to accessorizing your home, to latest in textiles. The crowd carried on into the evening, when the event turned into a social affair featuring live entertainment and delicious food from Celadon, Blue Coral, and Chile Co. There were lots of new faces lining Girard Avenue, and we look forward to the event growing more and more every year!

And the event had a great cause attached to it too. The silent 'chair'ity' auction of innovative seating benefited the La Jolla High School Foundation.
