              Beautiful environments
inspire poets, scientists and thinking. And that's exactly the
mission of some petal minded parents of La Jolla Elementary School
children. They aim to make the near plantless environment of their
childrens' school, bloom with vibrant plants and vibrant minds.

              And so it follows,
the adults at the helm organized and threw an incredible 70's
inspired fundraiser called 'La Jolla Rocks.' The event took place
June 10th, 2006 at the Ahumada La Jolla hilltop estate. The hosts
Guillermo and Katie Riveroll and Sheila Ahumada, greeted guests
to an evening of margaritas, fabulous Mr. Taco catered, authentico
cuisine, and a whole lot of dancing to Rockola.
              Those joining in got into
the 70's, rock T-shirt glam. Some of the fun crowd included Lisa
and Raul Albanez, Liz and John Andrews, Annica and Bjorn Backlund,
Christina Barone, Barb and Walter Birnbaum, Amie and John Baldwin,
Ginny and Jon Boland, Dina and Gregg Buckley... Greg's the guy
that's been forecasting correctly the housing / mortgage market
from a year ago, Emmett and Holly Holden, Kylee Holoch, Marcy
and Tom Holthus, Fred and Desiree Kellogg, and Lisa and Joe D'Angelo.
If you couldn't be at the
party, there are still many fun additional ways that you can help
support beautifying La Jolla Elementary School. Purchasing a 'La
Jolla Rocks' t-shirt at Rumors Boutique in the village, or you
can donate directly to the endeavor by contacting Dina Buckley
at dinab1@san.rr.com or Marcy Holthus at mmholthus@hotmail.com.
              But back to the fundraiser
at hand. Many were there in the totally cool camoflage 'La Jolla
Rocks' shirts and other fine wear. They included Christie and
David Duguid, Molly and Ted Eldredge, Alan and Lainie Ezeir, Kera
Fitzpatrick, John and Melinda Gaffney, Marnie and George Gavit,
                and Randi and Bart Hegeler.

Events like these don't just happen though, they happen with a
lot of hard work. In this case applause goes to committee members
Marcy Holthus, Dina Buckley, Carrie Morris, Angela Rhodes and
Nicole Repp. They made the party smooth... like a perfect margarita.
A popular drink of the evening.

              More there supporting the
beautifying cause were Tim and Elise Kjos, Kelly and Steve Lake,
                Shelly and Claudio Lana, Kristee
and Tony Pauker, Mary and John Penrith, Vera and Joe Pitrofsky,
Wendy and Mark Pullin, Nicole and Dave Repp, Barry and Paola Ruderman,

Melinda and Kevin Mahony, Simon and Diana Malk, Carrie and Peter
Morris, and Shawn and Laure-Anne Parr.
              Remember
"BLOOM. It is what flowers do when watered. It is what our
                children do when inspired."
