AT THE SAN DIEGO ZOO IT WAS ALL MONKEY BUSINESS AT THEIR ANNUAL ANIMAL PARTY, RENDEZ VOUS IN THE ZOO OR RITZ. THIS YEAR'S THEME WAS MONKEY BUSINESS BUT IT WAS SERIOUS BUSINESS AS OVER $340,000 WAS RAISED TO HELP BUILD THE NEW HEART OF THE ZOO TROPICAL FOREST HABITAT WHICH WILL REPLACE THE OLD MONKEY AND BIRD CAGES. THE NEW HABITAT WILL OFFER COOL UP CLOSE VIEWING OF CLOUDED LEOPARDS, PYGMY HIPPOS, CROCODILES, EXOTIC BIRDS, MANDRILLS AND A WHOLE LOT OF MONKEYS.

IT WAS SURF'S UP FOR THE LIFEGUARD LUAU - COMARADERIE ABOUNDED AT THE THIRD ANNUAL "SURF'S UP LUAU" BENEFITTING SAN DIEGO'S LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM AND THE SAN DIEGO LIFEGUARD TEAM FOR ITS ANNUAL COMPETITION IN THE NATIONAL LIFEGUARD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MIAMI FLORIDA THIS AUGUST OF 2001.

AMONG THE FUN AT A FABULOUS SPANISH ESTATE IN POINT LOMA WERE SOME LOCAL POLITICOS, BYRON WEAR WITH HIS BELOVED BE-UTIFUL BRIDGET CANTU WEAR, GEORGE STEVENS AND SCOTT PETERS. ALSO THERE WERE TIM CICHETTO WITH HIS SWEETIE ERIN, THE LUSCOMBE CLAN OF ROD, VIRGINIA AKA TOOGIE AND THEIR SON MICHAEL WHO OWNS LA JOLLA KAYAK, ONE OF THE EVENTS VERY GENEROUS SPONSORS. TENNIS STARS AT LA JOLLA BEACH & TENNIS CLUB

In the tennis world the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club just hosted the United States Tennis Association Senior Hardcourt Competition. The three Bills, BILL BOND, BILL MCGRATH AND BILL KELLOGG organized a superlative event replete with world class tennis that included formidable champ SUE ELLA STEEL, champ MIKE RABBITT and the one and only DODO CHENEY. DODO is a whopping 80 plus years, wears pearls for tennis play and packs alot of power into her strokes. Congrats all!

Also down in the Shores area talented artist MISS KITTY at Miss China's Restaurant keeps pace with her customers who include a variety of Padre greats. Meanwhile Miss Kitty's husband DANNY TOW seems to know the score of every baseball, football and golf game going on. Danny's a regular sport's encyclopedia! By the by, two of the Padre owners are some of Miss China's most frequent customers!! With owners, come players sports fans!!

NORDSTROM BENEFICIALLY TAKES CENTER STAGE FOR LA JOLLA PLAYHOUSE

The Center Stage Club is a core group of fundraisers whose hard and smart work raises significant funds for the La Jolla Playhouse. Their current task is to raise funds for a state of the art new theatre facility. And they are well on the way.

The 14th Annual "Golden Hanger Awards" benefitting Make A Wish Foundation of San Diego children. Make A Wish delves to make every health challenged child's dream come true. I was proud to model with Make A Wish beauties Heather Plashka and Brenn Richards (we're in Somsi Norfolk designs ). Other personality models in show were Sandra Maas, Reischa Canidate, Bianca de la Garza and Jinah Kim.Other Make A Wish models were Briten Douglas, Ireaun Burks, Cheyenne Enriquez, Keri Henson, Erin Martin, Audrey Cranmer, Vanessa Velasquez, Rana McAnear. Tanya McAnear and Jim Crawford produced the show that honored Peggy Matthews, , Charlotte Russe and Rampage, Ripcurl, Aaron Chang, Buffalo Exchange, Vanity, Reef Brazil, Arline Fisch and Reba Brophy for their fashion contributions in San Diego.
